Skylark, Greater Boston’s premier professional vocal ensemble, returns to Falmouth in a concert to launch its newest recording, Seven Words from the Cross. Conceived for Good Friday, and Skylark’s international debut in London, the program is a diverse and uniquely American blend of traditional hymns (including Just as I am and Wondrous Love) paired with works by Hugo Distler, Francis Poulenc, and Hildegard von Bingen, among others. Skylark’s singing has been described as “sublimely beautiful” (Opera Obsession) and “of the highest standard for any area or any repertoire” (Classics Today). This concert is the fourth in a series of five concerts in Falmouth. First Congregational Church, Monday, March 26th, 2018 at 7:30 pm (a pre-concert talk will be offered at 6:30 pm).
