Artwork by the students of East Falmouth Elementary School, Kindergarten through 4th grade, will be on display at the Maser Gallery from March 5 through March 29, 2018.
The public is invited to an opening reception on Monday, March 5, from 4:00 – 6:00 pm.
East Falmouth Elementary School art teacher Joanne Peterson sees her art students once or twice a week for 40 minutes, from the first day of school to the end of February. Even in this short time, her students consistently produce work that she is proud to present in the annual exhibit at the Maser Gallery. This year work done in a variety of different mediums will be on display.
“I believe the viewer of this exhibit will see the range of skill from a kindergarten student’s underwater “rainbow fish” to a 4th grader’s self-portrait that captures the artist’s personality,” says Joanne. “I’ve chosen these art pieces to show the audience that children’s art can bring out feelings of emotion, passion, happiness and sheer joy. How can you not love what a child has to say through their art? I hope that my students’ art speaks to the viewers.”
