A celebration of the birthday of the Bard of Scotland, Robert Burns. Kilts! Bagpipes! Haggis! Poetry! Song!
An impressionistic take on the traditional Burns Night (or Burns Supper) celebrations that began in the early 19th century to honor the national poet of Scotland, Robert Burns. Bagpipes by the noted Cape piper Sarah Ford Marchio, music on the 1717 Meetinghouse's famed Mander organ by Don Rockwood, brief narration and some Burns poetry offered by Greg Williams, and plenty of song--followed by a reception of Scottish foods, including the famed haggis, which will have been earlier piped into the Meetinghouse, "addressed" with Burns's poem, and piped out of the Meetinghouse. As the Scots would say, it'll be pure barry. Dinna ye miss it.
Suggested donation of $15.00. 1717 Foundation members and students, suggested donation of $10.00.
