Creative Processing in Photoshop: Replacing Skies and Adding Textures

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

Betty Wiley will be teaching her popular 3 hour creative processing workshop for CCAA on replacing skies and using various texture overlay techniques to enhance images. You will simply be amazed at what adding a sky and texture can do to an image and this workshop will show some the tips and tricks that can be accomplished using either Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. Time permitting, Betty will also cover the following:

1) how to change the look and color of a texture and how to use a texture in a number of different ways, including how to use a texture to create an interesting border

2) how to make changes to the texture without changing the actual image itself…this is a very, very useful technique if you love working with textures.

3) how to remove a texture from a portion of the image, such as on a person’s face, while retaining the look and feel of the texture itself.

This workshop will be an intensive, hands-on class and students are asked to bring 3-4 of their own images to work on.   Betty will provide by a step-by-step demonstration that will be accompanied by a written hand-out which will allow the student to follow along. The remainder of the workshop will be spent with students working on their own images using the techniques that Betty has demonstrated. The goal of this workshop will be for each student to leave with a thorough understanding of the processes and techniques involved so that they are competent to do this on their own.
