As part of the Brewster Ladies’ Library’s Sunday Concert series, the Library invites you to a solo concert by Jacqueline Schwab titled Building Bridges—Vintage Music of Latin and South America for Solo Piano.
Jacqueline’s performance will feature classical music and her own arrangements of habaneras, tangos and waltzes from Cuba, Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela and Mexico, to warm your hearts on a wintry day.
Renowned local pianist Jacqueline Schwab has performed at the White House, the Smithsonian, and even on the Late Show with David Letterman! Her distinctive playing infuses the soundtracks of documentary maker Ken Burns’ Grammy-winning Civil War, Baseball, Lewis and Clark, Mark Twain, The War, and The National Parks, among others. She has also performed on The Irish in America, Ric Burns’ New York: A Documentary Film, and has been composer for documentaries on Mary Cassatt and Mennonites. She has four solo recordings: Mad Robin, Down Came an Angel, Mark Twain’s America, and True Blue Waltz. Jacqueline graduated from the New England Conservatory in Boston, majoring in piano improvisation. She has long played for English dancing with the Bare Necessities quartet. In addition, Jacqueline has performed solo and collaborative concerts, recorded, taught improvisation, and played for dancing in over forty US states.
This event will take place on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Admission is free, and all are welcome to attend.
