Becoming a Fearless Painter: Rock & Roll with Odin Smith

Becoming a Fearless Painter: Rock & Roll with Odin Smith

Presented by Cultural Center of Cape Cod at Cultural Center of Cape Cod

Four weeks - 1/9, 1/16, 1/23, 1/30
Join Odin in a series of sessions that change their directive each month and are devoted to working in a smaller and more intensive learning environment, to improve specific artistic skills.
In January we will be focusing on painting rocks. Even on the Cape, you can’t avoid coming across rocks in the landscape. Think of the jetties, or where ancient glaciers have pushed rocks around and dropped them onto the earth. Somehow, they seem to make their way into our paintings. Find out how to paint rocks starting with major forms and add light, color and texture to create rocks and stones that have dimension and character. Please be prepared with your own reference material, with several photos of different types of rocks in the landscape. You may bring any six canvases to work on as well as your own supplies.
These classes will help artists to become more confident in their own skills and bring a sense of self and creativity to their own work. Taking risks will be encouraged! Must be on an intermediate to advanced level, and must have their own acrylic supplies.
