MOZART AT LAST!
APRIL 9, 2016 @ 7:30PM &
APRIL 10, 2016 @ 3:00PM
JUNG-HO PAK, CONDUCTOR
JAE COSMOS LEE, VIOLIN
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart wrote five violin concertos. This is his last. He wrote forty-one symphonies. This is his last. He wrote his last opera in the last year of his life. The point? Sometimes the best really are the last. The most loved. The most requested. And, they’re here. In one fest of finales. Plus some firsts. This is the first time we’ll perform the “Jupiter” symphony, Mozart’s fearless flight to the very edge of what’s musically possible. He uses five different melodies simultaneously in the blazing finale which certainly calls for some fearlessness of our own. This is also the first time you’ll meet Jae Cosmos Lee, the soloist. You know him as our Concertmaster and Director of Nth Degree. He’s also making music and headlines with his cutting-edge (Grammy nominated!) string ensemble, A Far Cry. We all know this violinist plays so well with others; it’s time for you to see what he can do alone… at our first Mozart-centric concert in years – at last!
