Literary Evening

Presented by Brewster Ladies' Library at Brewster Ladies' Library

Brewster writers are invited to pick up applications at the Library, Town Hall, or Council on Aging and apply to read their work at this fun event. The deadline for submitting applications is October 18. Not a writer? Come anyway, and enjoy listening to local writers of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry.

This year’s guest author will be Jacquelyn Mitchard. Mitchard is a novelist and journalist whose 1996 #1 best-seller The Deep End of the Ocean was the first selection for Oprah's Book Club. Michelle Pfieffer starred in the film that was based on the novel. All of Mitchard's other novels have been best-sellers garnering critical acclaim, particularly The Most Wanted, which was nominated for Britain's Orange Prize for Fiction, and Cage of Stars, nominated for Britain's Spread the Word Prize. Mitchard has also written books for children and young adults. From 2007-2011, she offered One Writer's Place, a residence for women and men disadvantaged by widowhood or divorce and dedicated to healing through creativity.

The Literary Evening is co-sponsored by the Brewster Cultural Council and the Brewster Ladies’ Library. This program will take place on Tuesday, October 31 at 7:00 p.m.  All are welcome.
