Dwight Ritter, a Brewster resident, will discuss his new novel, Growin' Up White. Set during the start and peak of the Indianapolis civil rights movement, the Stoner family story is told from the perspective of the middle son, Rick. The Stoners live in a predominantly black neighborhood and as Rick grows up, racism pervades his life. The novel also relates the immense impact that Georgey, a fifty-year old black housekeeper from the Bahamas, has on this white family.
