PRECIOUS METAL CLAY CLASSES

PRECIOUS METAL CLAY CLASSES

Presented by Cape Cod Museum of Art at Cape Cod Museum of Art

Learn to create beautiful jewelry from Precious Metal Clay (PMC), a unique medium that allows the artist to sculpt, roll and build pieces as you would with clay.  After firing, the pieces become fine (pure) silver.  Students will learn all the basics about handling and finishing PMC, as well as how to complete finished pieces of jewelry using wire wrapping, making and using clasps, ear wires, and jump rings.  Students will also learn how to build their own PMC toolkit using some regular household items, along with some materials provided by and purchased from the instructor. PMC, fine silver wire, and some other materials are available purchase from the instructor during the classes, and are separate from the class fee.

Although this class is primarily for beginners, experienced PMC artists are welcome to come and utilize the tools, camaraderie and instruction for projects they are working on.
