BEAD WEAVING AND JEWELRY BASICS FOR TEENS

BEAD WEAVING AND JEWELRY BASICS FOR TEENS

Presented by Cape Cod Museum of Art at Cape Cod Museum of Art

Young adults who are interested in learning more complicated and beautiful beading techniques such as ladder, herringbone and peyote stitches will enjoy this class and complete at least two projects after school during the fall session.  Students will learn about bead types and sizes, how to start and finish projects using bead threading materials, and how to use findings such as jump rings, clasps and ear wires. They will also learn one of the most important kills in beading: how to organize their supplies.  Beading is a great way to practice math skills such as repetitive pattern planning, counting, calculating and estimating, while incorporating creativity and design.  Some materials will be included and others will be available for purchase from the instructor or from local suppliers.

Materials list:
Please bring any beads, needles, clasps or other beading/jewelry tools, containers or supplies that you have at home.
