BECOMING A FEARLESS PAINTER: GOING UNDER THE KNIFE with Odin Smith

BECOMING A FEARLESS PAINTER: GOING UNDER THE KNIFE with Odin Smith

Presented by Cultural Center of Cape Cod at Cultural Center of Cape Cod

Join Odin in a series of sessions that change their directive each month and are devoted to working in a smaller and more intensive learning environment, to improve specific artistic skills. In August we will be discovering how to work with palette knives in acrylic paint. Learn to manipulate the tools to produce beautiful, textural work, which could feature the palette knife entirely, or use the palette knife to enhance the brush work in a painting. In addition to your regular supplies, students will need an inexpensive set of palette knives and a few canvases or boards to work on simultaneously, as they may need drying time. Textural mediums could be an interesting addition to your work, so if you want to build up thickness of your paint with them, please feel free to bring those as well (but not necessary). These classes will help artists to become more confident in their own skills and bring a sense of self and creativity to their own work. Taking risks will be encouraged! Must be on an intermediate to advanced level, and must have their own acrylic supplies.
