Set in Sweden the summer of 1900, the lives of several romantic couples turn into a swirling web of affairs that seem to revolve around actress Desirée Armfeldt. Jealousy and suspicion of one another’s fidelity—or lack thereof—ignite tension between the edgy cast of characters. Such tension only grows when they all congregate for a weekend in the country at Desirée’s mother’s estate. Though the summer sun refuses to set, the moon will smile down on this musical masterpiece of new romances and second chances.
