Marc Black Presents The History of the ‘50s and ‘60s through the Lens of Popular Music

Presented by Cultural Center of Cape Cod at Cultural Center of Cape Cod

In the 1950s and ‘60s, popular music evolved from being an escape from reality to a powerful way to communicate reality. A member of the New York Chapter of the Blues Hall of Fame, Marc Black has created an engaging and humorous program during which the audience can relive this colorful time in our history through a wide range of popular songs including surprising favorites like Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini, great rock tunes like Blue Suede Shoes, and moving folk songs like Bob Dylan’s Blowin’ in the Wind. This musical and thought-provoking program always leaves the audience feeling good about where we are…and where we’ve been. Marc has performed and recorded with Art Garfunkel, Taj Mahal, Richie Havens, Rick Danko and Pete Seeger to name a few.  He was recently named Folk Artist of the Year on ABC Radio, was a winner at the Kerrville Folk Festival.  Come hear him perform at the Cultural Center.
