A two-day nature journaling workshop with artist, writer and naturalist Julie Zickefoose held at Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary.
Writing prose and poetry, drawing, and painting are among the many ways to interpret the world around you. It is in interpreting nature that we come to understand it better and forge a deeper connection. In this two-day workshop at Mass Audubon's Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, find inspiration, expand your creativity, and learn to really see the world around you.
Instructor Julie Zickefoose makes her living interpreting what she finds wonderful, beautiful, fascinating, and disturbing about nature, especially the boundary where it intersects with people. Her books include Letters from Eden: A Year at Home, In the Woods (2006) The Bluebird Effect: Uncommon Bonds with Common Birds (2012), and Baby Birds: An Artist Looks Into the Nest (2016). The 1100-acre Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary is located on the Outer Cape and is operated by Mass Audubon. This is one of several multi-day Cape Cod Field School courses offered for adults.
Cost for this two-day workshop is $350 for Mass Audubon members and $385 for non-members and includes dinner on the first evening. Advance registration is required. Registration is accepted on-line or over the phone.
