Luiz Caracol

Luiz Caracol is a singer-songwriter, guitarist and bassist based in Lisbon, Portugal. Just before his birth, his parents moved from Angola to the south of Portugal, settling in an African, Brazilian and Portuguese community. This artistically rich and diverse environment had a formative influence on Luiz, and hismusic expresses his mestiçaidentity and multi-cultural life experiences. Over the past twenty years, Luiz has built a substantial recording and performing career, working with top Lusophone artists including Sara Tavares, Jorge Palma, Pierre Aderne, Aline Frazão, Susana Travassos, Manecas Costa, Fernanda Abreu, Uxia and Tito Paris. In 2011, he was featured in the documentary “MPB: Música Portuguesa Brasileira” (MPB – Portuguese Brazilian Music) broadcast by Portuguese National Television and Brazil's Globo television network. In 2013, Luiz released his first solo album Devagar(Slowly) to critical acclaim. Upon it's release, Devagarremained the top selling album at FNAC Portugal for over a month. The record includes special guest appearances by Portuguese artists Fernanda Abreu, Valete and Sara Tavares. Since the release of Devagar, Luiz has been performing his songs throughout in Portugal, Brazil, Europe, Africa. He is thrilled to release Devagar for the first time in The United States.

The Luiz Caracol Trio also includes Ruca Rebordão (percussionist from Angola, now living in Portugal and Maine) and Gustavo Roriz (Brazilian bassist and viola caipira player living in Portugal). Both are enormously talented musicians with celebrated international careers.

Eleanor Dubinsky is a New York City based singer, songwriter, cellist, guitarist, dancer and performance artist. She writes original songs combining melodic, soothing vocals with poly-rhythmic grooves from Brazil, Latin America and West Africa. Eleanor has released two CDs to date, Touch The Sky (2011) and Listen To The Music (2012), as well as single recordings that range from bossa-flavored French classics to group compositions with jazz and world musicians. Eleanor's songs have been featured on MTV, Lifetime and Animal Planet, ads for American Express, radio stations throughout Mexico and NPR, and her song, “Wait For You” won the Sennheiser recording contest at the 2012 ASCAP EXPO. Eleanor performs regularly in New York City, tours nationally and internationally, and most recently returned from a research-performance tour to Portugal and Cape Verde.
