Noontunes Summer Concert Series: Todd Fruth, tenor and Jessie Edgar, piano

at Church of the Messiah

Please join us at the Church of the Messiah in Woods Hole on Wednesday, July 8th at 12:15pm, for the first concert of our 2015 Noontunes Summer Concert Series. This concert will feature a program performed by tenor, Todd Fruth, and pianist, Jessica Edgar. The program will last about 45 minutes, and we will be offering box lunches following the program for anyone who is interested. Todd Fruth is a teacher, vocalist, arranger, and conductor residing in Falmouth, MA.  Originally from Ohio, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and Psychology at Amherst College, and he earned his Masters in Music Education from Indiana University.  Mr. Fruth directs the choral program at Falmouth High School, where he teaches the Chorus, Repertory Singers, and the a cappella group, Soulfege.  In addition to his teaching duties, Mr. Fruth is the tenor section leader at St. Barnabas Church in Falmouth and the assistant director of the Falmouth Chorale.  He was the musical director for Falmouth Theatre Guild's production of Wizard of Oz, and he has performed as a soloist with the Woods Hole Cantata Consort and the Falmouth Chorale.  He recently performed the role of the Evangelist in Bach's St. John Passion at Grace Episcopal Church in Newton, MA.

Jessie Edgar is eighteen years old and has been playing piano and singing since she was six. She recently graduated from Falmouth High School with honors. She studies classical piano with Loretta Slovak and classical voice with Joan Kirchner. Jessie won the Cape Cod Conservatory’s Young Artists piano scholarship competition at ages 14 to 18 and was the recipient of an Olive Cahoon Classical Piano Scholarship at ages 14 to 18. She has participated in master classes through the Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra with concert pianists Jon Nakamatsu, Martina Filjak and soprano Maria Ferrante. She was invited to perform a solo piano piece as part of the Cape Cod Symphony’s program in February 2014.  She sings weekly with the Youth Chorale and Camerata at the New England Conservatory.  She was selected for the MA All-State chorus all her four years of high school. She has attended Interlochen Arts Camp as a voice major and will be spending a week at Oxford University in England for a choral program this summer. Next year she will attend Columbia University.
