AUSTIN BALLARD received his Masters from the Rhode Island School of Design and his Bachelors from the University of North Carolina in Charlotte, where he also served as an assistant professor in Textiles. Ballard has received a Joan Mitchell Foundation Sculpture Fellowship, a Windgate Foundation Fellowship, two Dan Bown Project Awards, and the Rhode Island School of Design Graduate Studies Grant. He has attended residencies at the Ox-Bow School of Art, the Vermont Studio Center, the Wassaic Project, the McColl Center for Art and Innovation and the Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop in Scotland.
