          Diane Turco, co-founder of the citizen’s group Cape Downwinders will speak at the Hyannis Public Library on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at 6 p. m.  This program is free and open to the public.           The mission of Cape Downwinders is to take action to protect the lives and welfare of the residents of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket against the threat of death or injury resulting from the use of nuclear energy at Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station and other locations.           A retired special educator from Harwich, Ms. Turco is the 2015 recipient of the Kathleen Roberts Creative Leadership Award for her three decades of activism and organizing while educating Massachusetts residents about nuclear safety.           "Talks & Tunes" Summer Programs at the Hyannis Public Library are generously sponsored by Baxter's Restaurant, The British Beer Company, Fresh Ketch Seafood 'N Steak, The Greater Hyannis Civic Association, and Spanky's Clam Shack.           After the talk, stroll over to the Hyannis Town Green to enjoy a concert by The Barnstable Town Band.
