Painterly Prints and Portfolios with Vicky Tomayko and Sylvia Tomayko-Peters

Presented by Provincetown Art Association and Museum (PAAM) at Provincetown Art Association and Museum

An introduction to one-of-a-kind prints that will be nested in a handcrafted portfolio. The first three days will be dedicated to realizing painterly prints. Monotype with its resultant ghost is the perfect medium for creating a series of related works, each new print springing from the echo of the last. The last two class sessions are dedicated to the creation of a presentation portfolio and the completion of your project. You may decide to use one of the prints for the cover, or leave it plain.

Vicky Tomayko is an artist who works with a variety of print methods creating one-of-a-kind works on paper. She studied printmaking in Detroit and with Michael Mazur in Provincetown. In addition to the Provincetown Art Association and Museum, she teaches at Cape Cod Community College and at the Fine Arts Work Center’s Summer Program. She manages the print studio for the Fine Arts Work Center during their seven-month Residency Program, providing workshops and one-on-one instruction. She was an artist-in-residence at the Cape Cod Lighthouse Charter School in Orleans for ten years. Tomayko was assistant professor of printmaking at Connecticut College. She is represented by the Schoolhouse Gallery in Provincetown. www.vickytomayko.com
