Restaurants Compete in Pasta Sauce Contest

“The Italian phrase mangia  means ‘Eat’  but it carries a richer cultural meaning which is to eat with great enjoyment,” says Deede Tonelli, CCMOA executive director.  “What’s more enjoyable than eating delicious pasta in the warmth of community from artistic bowls handmade by our wonderful artists and students with love.”

This first time event at Cape Cod Museum of Art offers a convivial feast to be shared by community, artists and restaurants to support the museum’s year-round offerings of diverse art classes and workshops.

Ziti is the pasta of choice and four different sauces can be sampled.  Guests will choose from decorated bowls of different styles and sizes that were created by the museum’s Ceramics Instructor Nat Doane and his students, and they will be able to take them home as a remembrance of this shared event.

Restaurants partaking in the contest for favorite Pasta Sauce are Encore Bar & Bistro, Gerardis, Treats/Dennis Inn and the Underground Bakery and the winner will receive a large ceramic handmade platter.

Guests will also enjoy wine, beer and desserts: Wines provided by Joseph Carr Wines.  Desserts by Kayak Cookies.

The museum is grateful also to The Dennis Cultural Council which has provided the clay through a grant.
