Painting Prompts with Megan Hinton

Painting Prompts with Megan Hinton

Presented by Provincetown Art Association and Museum (PAAM) at Provincetown Art Association and Museum

This three-day intensive workshop will consist of multiple daily exercises, or prompts, to train the painter not to be tentative, more intuitive, and to develop a free lyrical approach to painting.  Individual and collaborative prompts will be assigned after the instructor’s demonstration.  Color mixing, paint application, and subject matter will be discussed. Group and individual evaluation of prompt outcomes will occur to progress and grow with further assignments and beyond the workshop. Painting students will leave the workshop with a sense of confidence and ideas about approaching the medium to become a more well-rounded and prolific painter. We will start each session with a brief visit to the museum to look at relevant paintings to enlighten and inspire the class participants.

Some painting experience is recommended. Students can work in either acrylic or oil based paint.  This class is for the beginning to advanced painter.
