Stop by the Sturgis Library’s Circulation Desk and ask for a shelf from old 1920s bookshelves that were stored for many years in the basement. Take the shelf home and transform it into something new. Paint on it, sculpt it, carve it, cut it up, sand it down — whatever inspires you. Then donate it back to the Library by August 1st, 2017 to be auctioned off at the Library’s 150th Anniversary gala.

All proceeds from these works of art will benefit the newly established Sturgis Library Preservation Fund. Monies from this fund will be used exclusively for the preservation of the Library’s building, grounds, special collections, and archives.
