Art and history embrace at this year's Paint the Town, sponsored by the Guild of Harwich Artists and the Harwich Historical Society. Harwich artists will gather from 9 AM to 2 PM at the Harwich Historical Society's home at Brooks Academy Museum in Harwich center, and paint en plein air at various points on the property. In honor of the rebullding of the barn where our greatest bird carver, Elmer Crowell, created his works, artists will paint features of the area, including the Crowell Barn itself. The next day, Sunday, the barn will be officially opened, and a reception will celebrate this new feature of Harwich Center. Come and watch artists interpret the history of Harwich in many media, including oil, pastel, acrylic, watercolor, and ink. Ask questions,...really, the artists want to engage viewers!
