Permaculture and Edible Landscapes

Permaculture and Edible Landscapes

at Hyannis Public Library

Do not miss an opportunity to learn to work with nature for sustainable living when Dave Scandurra, owner of Edible Landcapes in West Barnstable, shows you how you can have your yard and eat it, too!  Join us for this timely talk about “Permaculture and Edible Landscapes” at the Hyannis Public Library on Wednesday, June 17 at 6 p. m.   The program is free and open to the public. Permaculture is a design process which aims to optimize the health of an ecosystem, while also providing for human needs.  Through permaculture we mimic natural systems so that the least amount of work obtains the greatest yield. This presentation will cover basic techniques for edible landscaping, edible forest gardening, polycultures and plant guilds, perennial vegetables, agro-ecology, agro-forestry, and much more!  Come and learn how you can convert your yard into an eco-edible-paradise, which provides food, medicine, fuel, fodder, fiber, fertilizer, wildlife and pollinator habitat, and of course, it’s fun for all ages!
