DINNER & A MOVIE - Landfill Harmonic

DINNER & A MOVIE - Landfill Harmonic

Presented by Woods Hole Film Festival at Lillie Auditorium

The Woods Hole Film Festival presents a special event screening of the critically acclaimed film LANDFILL HARMONIC as a fundraiser for the Woods Hole Film Festival and the Falmouth Service Center. Musicians from the Cape Cod Symphony/Cape Cod Conservatory will play prior to the film screening.

The screening is the fourth in the Dinner & a Movie film series that screens independent film each month through May.

A Symphony of the Human Spirit

Landfill Harmonic follows the Recycled Orchestra of Cateura, a Paraguayan musical group that plays instruments made entirely out of garbage. When their story goes viral, the orchestra is catapulted into the global spotlight. Under the guidance of idealistic music director Favio Chavez, the orchestra must navigate a strange new world of arenas and sold-out concerts. However, when a natural disaster strikes their country, Favio must find a way to keep the orchestra intact and provide a source of hope for their town. The film is a testament to the transformative power of music and the resilience of the human spirit.

ABOUT THE FALMOUTH SERVICE CENTER

Since 1983, the Falmouth Service Center, Inc. has worked hand in hand with the community to educate, support, and improve the quality of life of Upper Cape residents in need. Individuals, schools, organizations, and the faith community contribute not only financial donations but also food, clothing, and other necessary goods to the Falmouth Service Center. A major component of the program is an extensive food pantry that residents/clients may visit once every two weeks as needed. In addition, financial assistance, in conjunction with budget management workshops, is available to clients who need housing assistance and/or help paying utilities.
