The Cape Cod Museum of Art has two wonderful monthly programs for those with Alzheimer’s or other memory loss issues and their caregivers! Both programs are free for the attendees.
The Artist Within is a hands-on art-making program, designed to engage participants in the creative process. Barbara Greenspan is the instructor, with vast experience in working with varied expressive art programs throughout Cape Cod. In October The Artist Within program will be on the 19th from 1 – 2:30 pm. Participants will have the opportunity to work with clay, create an object, and then receive the work back, fired and glazed at a later date! Please pre-register (508-385-4477, ext 15), so Barbara can plan accordingly.
Art & Conversation engages the participants in discussion about selected artworks at the Museum. Our Museum Educators are trained in Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS), based on the research of Abigail Housen and implemented further by Philip Yenawine, both of whom provided training sessions here at the Museum. These Art & Conversation programs have inspired lively discussions and a wonderful interaction among the participants! Participants can register for our Art & Conversation program at 508-385-4477, ext 15, which is scheduled for the fourth Friday of each month from 2-3pm. The next program will be on October 28th from 2-3pm.
Programs are free, but please RSVP. 508-385-4477 ext 15
