The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster continues its Nature Screen monthly film series with PBS’ original NATURE documentary; SUPERFISH Sunday, June 14, 2015 at 1pm.
For generations, anglers have been hooked by the biggest, fastest, most dangerous gamefish in the sea-the graceful sailfish, the menacing swordfish, and the biggest trophy of them all, the marlin, the great fish immortalized by Ernest Hemingway in his classic, The Old Man in the Sea. But these ancient and amazing creatures have long been shrouded in myth and mystery. Join dedicated marine biologist and award-winning filmmaker Rick Rosenthal, who for two decades has set out on a personal quest to film these sword-wielding giants face-to-face in the deep, blue uncharted waters of their world. Rosenthal's documentary travels to the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans as well as the Caribbean Sea in pursuit of these giants of the deep in hopes that it will awaken people to the need to preserve these remarkable billfish in their native habitats. Narrated by Academy Award Winner, F. Murray Abraham.
Join us every month for compelling, educational and visually stunning nature documentaries that inspire appreciation, curiosity and stewardship of our natural world and its inhabitants.
