Making an Organic Garden

This two hour course will teach you how to build a “Lasagna Garden”. Learn to turn some of your lawn into an easy garden, with no tilling root or sod bound soils. We will teach you were to find the free resources to build it, our secrets to incredibly rich soil and the methods we use to put a garden together without breaking your back.  Learn to garden with half the watering of traditional methods. Learn the methods and components that will help grow vibrant, fresh, and pesticide free vegetables to put on your table. Acquire the information necessary to take your food security into your own hands. It will be a fun, hands-on course that builds a garden at the Truro Center for the Arts.

Hopkins and McCulloch: Debbie is a nurse and John is a builder. They live in Truro and run Pure Joy Farm with Tessa Gifford and Drake Cook. They all have an extensive knowledge in regard to organic gardening techniques. You will learn the methods necessary for self-sufficient organic gardening at any scale from a single pot to a big plot.
