Artist Michele Dangelo creates images so plain that each of her paintings has a single focus: a house or boat for instance. These objects are interesting for many reasons, not least of which is the absence of the people who have made or dwelt in them. Although there is some loneliness involved in the images she creates, there is also strength and the idea that the objects are characters. "I am continually challenged by the notions of free expression and a distinct hand to create work that has more to do with the viewer's perception than my intention," Michele says. "Each picture is a multi-generational storehouse of memory and experience."
Michele will exhibit some of of her original paintings along with limited edition prints. Michele also collected clothing labels and stitched the pattern together. Using this motif, she created some “beach cover-ups” prints that are fun!
