Author Talk with Terri Arthur

Author Talk with Terri Arthur

at West Falmouth Library

Nurse and author Terri Arthur will discuss her popular historical novel “Fatal Decision: Edith Cavell WWI Nurse” at West Falmouth Library Thursday, May 21st at 7:00pm.

Based on fact, Arthur’s richly written historical novel tells the powerfully moving story of the legendary Edith Cavell, a British nurse who started the first nurses’ training school in Belgium. Then World War I broke out and the German army occupied Belgium. As the world around her disintegrated, knowing the danger, she became a key link in the dangerous and clandestine world of the Belgian underground rescuing wounded Allied soldiers all while being relentlessly pursued by the ruthless German army. This is an inspiring story you never knew but will never forget.

Arthur lives in Falmouth. Haunted by the images on a set of vintage postcards, Arthur’s research into the life of Edith Cavell led her to Belgium twice and the U.K. four times. She is the only nurse to have written a book about Nurse Cavell.  She holds a BS in education and biology, a diploma in nursing, and a MS in Health Business Management.  She has worked as a staff nurse and educator in hospitals on the Cape and Plymouth and now manages a continuing education company for health care providers. She is known by the nurses in the U.K. as the “The American Cavellite.” The author will be available for book selling and signing.

This event is free but we ask that you RSVP by calling the Library at 508-548-4709
