An Evening with Peter Yarrow (of Peter, Paul and Mary)

Presented by Harwich Cranberry Arts & Music Festival, Inc at Monomoy Regional High School

The Harwich Cranberry Festival is proud to introduce a new CONCERT SERIES at the Monomoy Regional High School Auditorium. This brand new facility in Harwich Center offers a state-of-the-art, fully accessible, performance space with seating for more than 500 people and plenty of free parking.

For 39 years, the proceeds from Festival events have been used to support scholarships and youth services and activities. This year, we have decided to double the amount of the scholarships for graduating seniors. This inaugural concert begins our plan to bring major artists to this sparkling new performance space to enrich life in our community and continue to raise funds for our charitable endeavors. On that note, we are very excited to bring Peter Yarrow -- yes, the Peter of Peter, Paul & Mary -- to present the FIRST PROFESSIONAL performance at the new Monomoy Regional High School Auditorium, Friday evening, May 8, 2015, at 8:00 PM.

Peter Yarrow’s talents as a creative artist—both with the legendary trio Peter, Paul & Mary and as a solo performer—are frequently directed at using music to convey a message of humanity and caring. His gift for songwriting has produced some of the most moving songs from Peter, Paul & Mary, including “Puff, the Magic Dragon,” “Day is Done”, “Light One Candle” and “The Great Mandala.” As a member of the renowned musical trio, Yarrow has earned multiple gold and platinum albums, as well as numerous GRAMMYs.

“We all know the music of Peter, Paul and Mary—folk classics that remain the soundtrack for generations....our patrons were thrilled to experience the relevancy of that music, and how it resonates through today’s headlines, when Peter Yarrow brought his solo show to the Tower Theatre. It was so much more than a nostalgia show. Peter connected with the sold-out audience in ways that went well beyond a normal concert: he encouraged sing-alongs and audience participation; he signed autographs at intermission; he personally greeted each and every one of our VIPs .....Peter turned our theatre into his living room, created an inclusive atmosphere... a memorable evening rooted in the historic milestones of his past, yet focused on the current issues.... We all know how all the songs of Peter, Paul and Mary sound; what a rare treat to hear....Peter .... “
–Ray Solley, Executive Director, Tower Theatre Foundation, Bend, Oregon
