4th Annual Ukulele Celebration

4th Annual Ukulele Celebration

Presented by Cotuit Center for the Arts at Cotuit Center for the Arts

October 25

The “Uke-A-Long” opens the show and gives everyone with a ukulele an opportunity to perform onstage in a rousing celebration of the growing popularity of ukulele. Song charts will be available for download soon – there is a short rehearsal one hour before showtime and all ages and abilities are welcome. AND admission is free if you bring your ukulele and participate!

The opening number will be followed by performances from the Dolphin Ukulele Ensemble, the Cape Cod Ukuladies, the Steve Gregory Household, and the CCftA All-Stars.

The Dolphin Ukulele Ensemble is a children’s ukulele group founded and directed by South Yarmouth kindergarten teacher Susan Anarino that offers fun, upbeat singing and strumming. The group is named after the brand of ukulele they play: small, brightly colored soprano ukes.

The Cape Cod Ukeladies was started two years ago as a ukulele jam group of people who were new to playing ukulele and just wanted to have fun playing and singing. Most played other instruments such as fiddle, cello, guitar, and banjo before taking up the ukulele, and all abilities were welcomed.

CCFTA All Stars - Some of the best players from CCFTA's Intermediate Ukulele class  past and present.

The Steve Gregory Household includes Steve Gregory, his family and friends. Gregory founded the Ukulele Orchestra Series of classes at Cotuit Center for the Arts and is the owner of Score Music in Sandwich, MA. He will be joined onstage by his daughter, Vanessa, his wife Joni, Chris Harris on bass guitar,  Shawn Malcomson on percussion and a few hand picked Ukulele prodigies from Score Music.
