A Midsummer Night’s Dream

A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Presented by Cotuit Center for the Arts at Cotuit Center for the Arts

August 3
One night only!

A Midsummer Night's Dream, by William Shakespeare
Directed by Neil McGarry

“The course of true love never did run smooth”

Theseus, Duke of Athens, and Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons, have set aside their weapons of war and decided to be married instead. The same cannot be said of the rulers of the Fairy Kingdom, Titania, and Oberon, still fighting over Titania’s refusals to relinquish a child within her custody to him.

These two worlds, the Fairies and the mortals, collide when two lovers, Lysander and Hermia, flee to the woods after Duke Theseus decrees that she must bend to her father’s will and marry Demitrius, a man who, all else aside, her best friend Helena is completely in love with.

Join us this summer for transformations, plays within plays, and true midsummer maddness!
