Meet-the-photographer reception will be held Friday May 1st from 5:30-7:30

Julie DeMello has been drawn to the nuances of natural flowing water for years. While exploring fresh water ponds and streams of Cape Cod last fall, she began seeing vivid colors beneath and on the surface of the water amongst the fallen leaves and other debris that had become trapped in and around the rocks. She became fascinated and enlightened by the tranquility and rhythmic movement of the water flowing over and around the rocks and the way the sunlight naturally illuminated the beautiful forms and the surface of the water with incredible colors.

Through her lens and creative eye on a series of explorations, she captures a unique and thoughtful study of both the intense energy and excitement as well as the tranquility and meditative beauty of flowing water interacting with sunlight and debris and changing every moment. Her objective is to reveal to the viewer that there is so much beauty for our eyes to see if we simply take the time to notice what is truly emerging within. 

All of the photographs in the exhibit were taken  on Cape Cod using a Nikon 300 mm lens; no filters or effects were used and minimal post processing was done.
