Class Act: An Evening of Tap Dance and Big Band Jazz

Step back into a bygone era with inventive, high-energy tap choreography by nationally recognized hoofers Ryan P. Casey and Kelly Kaleta, featuring a unique blend of rhythm, humor, storytelling, poetry and more. Ryan P. Casey, named a 2014 Choreography finalist by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, trained under Thelma Goldberg and Kelly Kaleta with the Legacy Dance Company of The Dance Inn in Lexington, Massachusetts. He also served as Dance Captain of Aaron Tolson’s New England Tap Ensemble, was a founding member of Dorrance Dance and has performed as a guest artist with Jump Rhythm Jazz Project. You may have seen him on So You Think You Can Dance or read one of his articles for Dance Studio Life, Dance Spirit or Dance Teacher. He has worked with studios, universities, arts programs and youth companies throughout North America and has presented work at such venues as Jacob’s Pillow’s Inside/Out series, Massachusetts Dance Festival and David Parker’s Soaking WET series. Currently teaching at Boston University, The Dance Inn and Impulse Dance Center, Ryan choreographs for the University of Connecticut Tap Team and is a proud alumnus of NYU, The National YoungArts Foundation and The School at Jacob’s Pillow. He was featured in the December 2013 issue of Dance Studio Life. Friday May 1
