Family Fun Friday

Presented by Heritage Museums & Gardens at Heritage Museums & Gardens

Enjoy a family-friendly day at Heritage featuring special activities themed around some of your favorite movies showcased in CUT! Costume and the Cinema. Performances, activities, games, and family challenges make this a great start to the weekend.

July 8: Cinderella Day
Inspired by the film Ever After, families jump into the story of Cinderella and participate in activities that will take them through the plot—from creating a vehicle to attending the ball to finding their lost slipper hidden somewhere in the gardens. 11 am Performance: Upcycled Cinderella, by the Bright Star Touring Theatre, is an imaginative telling of Cinderella using household items, recycled objects, and plenty of hilarious characters. Special activities at The Adventure Park include a photo booth, a prize wheel spin, movie trivia, and a special tiara/crown for each youth climber (admission is required).

July 15: Beatrix Potter Day
Inspired by the film Miss Potter, families become nature explorers as they observe and record the natural world around Heritage to create their own field book and story. 11 am Performance: Toe Jam Puppet Band, with a special performance about nature, conservation, and the insect world.

July 22: Great Detective Day
Inspired by the film Sherlock Holmes, families become part of a mystery at Heritage that involves searching for clues throughout the galleries and gardens. Create a decoder to find hidden messages, and seek help from Mr. Holmes and Mr. Watson themselves. 11 am Performance: Vanessa Trien and the Jumping Monkeys, three-time Parents’ Choice Award-winning artist and local rock stars to the young and young at heart. Special activities at The Adventure Park include a Lucy the Lemur scavenger hunt, the puzzle pod, and a prize wheel spin (admission is required).

July 29: Never Neverland Day
Inspired by the film Finding Neverland, families will travel to Neverland, where imagination stations abound. Join the Lost Boys and participate in activities that remind us that imagination is the key to never growing up. 11 am Performance: Karen K and the Jitterbugs, who in their imaginary backyard fort make music and enjoy nature.
