Kids at the Museum

Presented by Orleans Historical Society at Orleans Historical Society Meetinghouse Museum

The idea of a figure made of paper dates back to the invention of paper! Paper dolls or figures were popular in the 1800’s in America and were used for toys as well as advertising.
Join us as we look back at the clothes of the people of Orleans in the 1800’s especially the Sea Captain’s, their lovely wives and children and recreate our own version of the paper figure.
We might also look at pirates too, who doesn’t love a pirate!
