Calliope Poetry Reading

at West Falmouth Library

Calliope, a Community for Poets, will stage its next reading on Sunday, March 8 from 3 – 5 PM at West Falmouth Library, located at 575 West Falmouth Highway. Featured poets include Danielle Legros Georges, John L. Holgerson, and Sandra Storey. Open mic sign up is at 2:45.

Ms. Georges is the author of the poetry collection, “Maroon." Her poems have appeared in numerous journals and anthologies. A professor at Lesley University, she was a recent recipient of a Massachusetts Cultural Council Artist Fellowship in Poetry. Appointed Boston’s Poet Laureate in 2014, she lives in Dorchester.

Mr. Holgerson’s full-length collection, “Broken Borders” and his new chapbook, “Unnecessary Tattoo and Other Stains on a Stainless Steel Heart” were published by Wasteland Press. His work has appeared in Modern English Tanka, Shadow Quill Poetry and Page & Spine.

Ms. Storey’s first book of poetry, “Every State Has Its Own Light,” a finalist for the May Swenson Poetry Award, was released in November 2014 by Word Poetry. Her poems have appeared in the New York Quarterly, Friction (UK), THELMA and New Millennium Writings. She is a member of the Jamaica Pond Poets.
