Light of Midnight: Photographing the Landscape at Night

Some of Nature’s most spectacular beauty is reserved for the landscape at night. And at night, the camera allows us to record phenomena we are physically incapable of seeing.  Long exposures render vibrant colors and intricate detail. They capture celestial objects in motion, creating metaphors for the passage of time.  Learn how to capture the mystery and wonder of the nocturnal landscape. The photographer can’t be sure what he or she will create, and that’s part of the allure and the excitement!

Night shooting expert Mark Bowie, author of two comprehensive e-books on night photography, will lead nighttime field sessions to photograph a variety of subjects, both wild and civilized: the ocean, beaches, dunes, coastal waterways, lighthouses and quaint fishing villages. During indoor instructional sessions he’ll cover strategies, tips and techniques on:
