There’s nothing more exciting than capturing a great photograph of a wild animal be it a mountain lion, a fox or a hawk. However, animal photography which is often referred to as nature photography is very challenging. Which camera settings do you use? How fast a shutter speed do you need? What lens do you need? How high should the ISO be? What makes a good composition? How do you deal with bad light? This workshop will provide an overview of what’s involved in the various camera settings, composition, equipment, choosing the right locations and right light, post processing and lots of tips. In addition, John will show a lot of nature photos as examples of how to deal with various situations. Much of the instruction in this session will also apply to action photography such as sports, pet photography, and street photography. After the workshop presentation, participants are invited to practice what they’ve learned by joining John at a photo shoot at Herring Run.
