a series of short and to the point drawing lessons for art students at any level

Everyone is welcome, from experienced artists to beginners. Stronger drawing skills can make anyone’s paintings more cohesive and convincing.

Each two-hour class will consist of a short – approximately 10 minute – presentation by Andrea of one of the many fundamental issues in drawing; the “topic of the day”. The presentation will be followed by students drawing from still life or interior scenes (not photographs) with an emphasis on using the concept presented. Andrea will work with each student as needed to help improve and enhance the student’s work, particularly but not exclusively in the “topic of the day”.

Topics of the day will include value structure, composition, simplification, perspective, foreshortening, line quality, texture, edges, among many others. Most drawing will be in black and white, but other colors will sometimes be used.
