Cape Cod Radio Mystery Theater is looking for local voices to act in a piece of experimental Radio Theater.  The specific voices we are looking for looking for:

--Actor, male, whose Natural Speaking Voice is similar to Jimmy Stewart's.  He should be able to sound like 'George Bailey' as done by Jimmy Stewart in the movie 'It's a Wonderful Life' but without any hint of caricature.

--Actor, male, whose Natural Speaking Voice is sympathetically similar to 'Clarence Oddbody, Angel Second Class', as done by Henry Travers in the movie.  He is also able to do a close imitation of the role.

--Actor, female, who has a characterful and mildly comic, Natural Speaking Voice and who is able to do a convincing imitation of 'Violet Bick' as done by Gloria Grahame from the movie.

--Actor, female, whose Natural Speaking Voice is sympathetically similar to 'Ma Bailey' as done by Beulah Bondi.

We are looking for local actors.  No prior acting experience is required.  Those interested should submit a brief sample of their Natural Speaking Voice as well as a brief attempt at the part they would like to read for.  Call 508-362-4443 and leave a voice message on the answering machine.  If you feel you need more recording time call back a second or third time, but don't imagine we are looking for perfection, just a general sense of how your voice sounds.  Don't forget to provide us contact information so we can get back to you.   If you wish to submit a longer sample you may also record it on a CD and send to us at: Cape Cod Radio Mystery Theater, p.o. box 225, West Barnstable, MA. 02668.  Those who have characterful, Natural Speaking Voices, not necessarily matching any of the above, are also invited to leave us a brief sample of their voice or send us a demo.

The following lines of dialogue from the movie may be used when performing your sample or pick your own from the movie:

Jimmy Stewart:   "You know if it wasn't me talking, I'd say you were the prettiest girl in town."

Jimmy Stewart:   "Not just one wish, Mary, a whole hatful.  I'm gonna see the world!  I'm gonna build skyscrapers a hundred stories high and bridges a mile long . . ."

Henry Travers:    "Oh, no no no.  I'm the answer to your prayer.  That's why I was sent down here, George."

Henry Travers:    "I haven't won my wings yet.  You'll help me earn them, won't you?"

Henry Travers:    "I told you, I'm your guardian angel.  I know everything about you."

Beulah Bondi:   "She's not crazy about Sam Wainwright, but she lights up like a firefly whenever you're in the room."

Beulah Bondi:  "She's the kind who can help you find the answers, George."

Gloria Grahame:  "Hello, Georgie."

Gloria Grahame: "Good afternoon, Mr. Bailey."

Gloria Grahame:   "What?  This old thing?  I only wear it when I don't care how I look."
