Conceptual Photography:
This course is a continuation of the original 'Digital Photography, A Creative Approach' offered in Jan., 2016. We will begin with a brief review of the basic functions and terminologies of photography, such as aperture, ISO, shutter speed, depth of field, white balance, etc.
The main objective of the course however, will be to develop work centering around an idea or concept. Assignments will be much more sophisticated and require more creative thinking than the intro course. Students can expect to do a lot of shooting outside of class, beginning with week long and two week long assignments geared to support the final project-- an idea driven body of work (portfolio). There will be three group critique sessions (of 8x10 prints) and one session devoted to one-on-one feedback and discussion with the instructor. Students who have not taken Part 1 of the course are welcome, but you should have some experience with photography a good working knowledge of the camera you intend to use.
