The Alzheimer’s Family Support Center and the Cultural Center of Cape Cod present an afternoon reading and conversation with Greg O’Brien, author of On Pluto: Inside the Mind of Alzheimer’s. A reception and book signing will follow. Greg O’Brien’s maternal grandfather and mother died of Alzheimer’s. A carrier of a marker gene for the disease, in 2009 he was also diagnosed with Alzheimer’s . On Pluto: Inside the Mind of Alzheimer’s, is a rare first-person account of O’Brien’s experience living with the disease. Greg O’Brien is former editor and publisher of the Cape Codder and Register newspapers, former editor of Cape Cod Life, and was a founding managing director of Community Newspaper Company in Boston. He lives in Brewster. The Alzheimer’s Family Support Center of Cape Cod is a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to the provision of free services for the estimated 10,000 Cape Cod families currently dealing with Alzheimer’s and dementia-related illnesses. Services include support groups, counseling, education, care consultation, and cultural events. No admission fee. Donations are welcome.

The Center's main parking lot is at the rear of the campus off Union Street, with overflow parking in the town lot on the corner of Old Main and Union Street or down Mill Street. The accessible parking spaces are near the accessible ramp entrance at the rear of the campus.
