February 6-8

Auditions for Steel Magnolias, a comedy-drama by Robert Harling, will be held at Cotuit Center for the Arts to be held Saturday February 6, 12-3 pm, Sunday February 7, 10:00am-12:30pm, and Monday February 8, 7:00pm-9:00pm. Production will run May 17-29 on CCftA’s Main Stage.

Rehearsals will begin March 22. Cast consists of 6 women, ages early 20's to mid 70's, all with Southern dialects.  Contact director Carol McManus, email soylorac000@yahoo.com, for additional information.

Character Breakdown

TRUVY,  age 40-early 50's, beauty shop owner; vivacious, caring, a romantic at heart.

ANNELLE. age early to mid 20's; Truvy's new assistant. Hesitant and unsure early on, gradually blossoms into a confident young woman.

CLAIREE, age 60's to mid 70's;eccentric grand dame, wealthy, Ouiser's close friend

OUISER,  age 60's to mid 70's, wealthy curmudgeon, sometimes lovable

M'LYNN, age mid 40's to mid 50's, well-to-do business woman, Shelby's mother

SHELBY, age early to late 20's, prettiest girl in town, suffers from diabetes; engaged to be married.
