Naturescape Gallery presents Lighthouse Charter School 6th Grade Art Class Students

Presented by Cape Cod Museum of Natural History at Cape Cod Museum of Natural History

Naturescape Gallery at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History is kicking off February School Vacation Week with original artwork from the Cape Cod Lighthouse Charter School’s 6th grade art classes. The students are experimenting with their own version of a Mexican traditional substance called Amate, made from the pulp of the Fig and Mulberry trees. Using their own substance of brown craft paper and India ink, they considered the animals, plant life and environment of Cape Cod to create their original tempera paintings inspired by the Amate tradition. These paintings reflect their efforts to select birds, fish, reptiles and plants interpreting them by using bold colors in creative ways.

Reception: February 28, 2015 1pm - 2pm.

Free with Museum Admission.
