WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

This group will study the head, using a live model. We will draw or paint the portrait in a controlled setting using charcoals or oils. We will utilize the discipline of Academic Traditional Methods with the freedom of “Alla Prima” to help each person learn the fundamentals to create a painting that is structurally sound in values, composition and technique in a simple, easy language. Focusing on discipline, we will work together to help each person at their level to keep their painting moving in the right direction. Both beginners and advanced artists will benefit from this group. I will begin with an extensive demo at the beginning of each day and after lunch will have you each paint your own portrait which I will then teach each person at their own level.
