Business Issues for Visual Artists (ARTS 360)
Our faculty are not only experts in what they teach—they are practicing artists. The instructor will introduce concepts and practical tools, then share how they are used in his own professional work as a successful artist. The business and professional side of art and the pursuit and management of a career in art will be explored covered. A
study is made of galleries, museums and commercial art fields dealing with aspects of exhibiting and selling work and the development of relevant business skills. The course includes a practical component including a gallery show at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod. Dates/Times: Hybrid course, some sessions will be online, Wednesdays 4-5:50pm (starts January 21, 2014)
Prerequisite: ARTS 104 and ARTS 125 and ARTS 130 and ARTS 140; and either ARTH 103 or ARTH 104; or consent of instructor

Rob Lorenson is a nationally renowned sculptor. He received his BFA from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls and an MFA from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. Since 1999 he has lived and worked in southeastern Massachusetts. His works have been included in a number of Exhibitions including Pierwalk in Chicago, The Sarasota Season Of Sculpture and the Convergence International Arts Festival in Providence, RI. His work is included in over 200 public and private collections from small table top pieces to 16' large scale sculptures.
