The Solstice Singers celebrate the holidays with a “A Mid-Winter Wassail”—a lively performance of Renaissance song and instrumental music, readings of the season, English sword dancing and a newly crafted “mummers play”. Now in their 22nd year of performance, The Solstice Singers, in colorful authentic costumes, will transport the audience to a distant time and place accompanied by the early music ensemble Passacaglia, and the children’s chorus Les Enfants du Soleil. Some moments will be filled with the reverence of Christmas and other moments celebrating the rowdy traditions of song and play that helped liven those long winter nights.
